Police are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains in the Hunter region at the weekend.
Officers attached to Central Hunter Local Area Command were called to bushland at Seahampton, about 20km from Maitland, just after 11am on Saturday 11 March 2017 after the bones were discovered.
Forensic examinations have revealed the bones are humans but the person’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
A number of personal items were located nearby which are linked to 43-year-old Danny See who was reported missing to Central Hunter police in April 2015.
Police are liaising with Mr See’s family while they await identification of the remains.
At this stage it is unknown if there are any suspicious circumstances, but the Homicide Squad has been notified as per police protocols.
Anyone with information to assist police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
